I can guarantee one thing in this life: anything worth doing will cause them to show up. If they don't show up now, they will later. But believe me, they are coming.

To whom am I referring?

The bloodhounds. And these dogs are set to seek and kill.

After 400 years of slavery, the Israelites were free! But, as the joy of freedom was settling in, the Egyptian army lead by Pharaoh, showed up to reclaim their lost slaves. Bloodhounds.

As Nehemiah was rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem, Sanballat and Tobiah did all they could to stop the work from being accomplished. Bloodhounds.

The early church, freshly receiving the Gospel of grace, became the target of those claiming that they had to be bound by Jewish customs in order to be true believers. Bloodhounds.

The slaves, escaping the oppressive conditions of the plantations of the South were hunted down by, you guessed it, bloodhounds.

No matter what it is, if it is worth doing, don’t be surprised when the bloodhounds show up.

Bloodhounds are there to drag you back to where you have fought so hard to be freed from. Bloodhounds are dream killers. Bloodhounds are focus deterrents.

You may be right at the very beginning of some major change in your life. Or, you may be well on your way. Whatever the case, stay the course. Don’t let the fear of bloodhounds deter you from your goal. Just stay the course.

It will be worth it.

Commit your ways to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth our righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. (Psalm 37:5-6, ESV)
